ABBY HERZBERG

I believe every birthing person should feel centered, listened to, and deeply held during the transformative process of birth. No birth is the same, but the power, joy, and awe that can exist in birth is profound.

I worked in social justice advocacy for 15 years before becoming a doula. After giving birth to my two children and supporting friends during the birth of theirs, I knew birthwork was the path for me. My greatest strengths are meeting people where they are, understanding and anticipating needs, and advocating for my clients’ wishes without judgment. Birth can be both vulnerable and empowering. I love helping people work through fears, tap into strengths, and identify what is most important to them as they welcome their baby. I trust and admire the unique and intuitive ways every person and couple navigates their birth journey.

I’m a naturally curious person (some might say nerdy!) and I teach group childbirth education classes in addition to being a doula. One of my most important roles in both settings is to provide individualized and evidence-based information so families feel confident in their decisions. I am particularly passionate about birth physiology and how birthing people can use movement both prenatally and in labor to increase comfort and make the birth process as smooth as possible. Outside of birthwork, I love to drag my kids on hikes, dance, and watch Warriors and Valkyries games.
